The St. John Regional School community enjoys a vibrant and engaging life beyond academics, with many opportunities for students to get involved and grow. Teachers, students, parents, and volunteers come together to share their time, talents, and resources—broadening and enriching the school environment through teamwork and shared experiences.
Clubs, enrichment activities, and athletics encourage students to nurture their gifts, build leadership skills, and strengthen faith values alongside classmates and caring adults. This collaborative spirit helps every child feel connected and supported, making school life joyful and meaningful far beyond the classroom.

Buddy Program
At St. John Regional School, we love helping children feel connected and cared for. Our “Buddy Program” pairs younger students with older students so they can look out for one another and grow together. Kindergarteners are matched with 7th graders, 1st graders with 8th graders, and so on, giving every child a special older or younger friend.
Throughout the year, they take part in a range of buddy activities and class celebrations. These might include reading together, working on crafts, playing board games, or creating special art projects together. Through this program, older students learn to be gentle leaders—showing responsibility, kindness, and empathy—while younger students feel safe, seen, and supported by a trusted friend.
Our buddy program is rooted in our belief that faith is strengthened in community. As older students gently guide the younger ones, and the younger ones look up to their buddies with trust and joy, they begin to see Christ’s love reflected in one another. Walking to Mass hand in hand, praying side by side, and sharing in the seasons of the Church help nurture a spirit of compassion, responsibility, patience, and genuine Christian friendship. These moments become small but meaningful reminders that we grow in faith not only as individuals, but as a family in Christ.

CLUBS and ACTIVITIES
Students at St. John Regional School can explore a wide variety of clubs and activities, from tech club and math club to chess, climbing, robotics, art, and more. These enrichment opportunities encourage students to pursue creative passions and discover new talents in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Each season offers exciting new options designed to foster curiosity, teamwork, and joy in learning. Whether building robots, preparing for math competitions, or serving as leaders in faith-based activities, students are guided to find their niche and form lasting connections in the school community. These clubs not only support personal growth and core values, but also help strengthen faith foundations and friendships.

Athletics
At St. John Regional School, our athletic programs are a true reflection of the caring spirit that brings our families together. Thanks to the dedication of our athletic director, wonderful parents and volunteers, students are offered the chance to participate in local leagues like Merrimack Valley Soccer League and the Merrimack Basketball League, where every student can experience teamwork, growth, and fun on and off the field.
Our participation fees help cover essentials—league entry, uniforms, and equipment—ensuring that every team is ready to play. The rest is powered by the heart of our community: parents, teachers, and friends come together through creative fundraising to provide gym time and field space. This team approach means that our athletic experiences are not just about playing sports, but also about building friendships, celebrating victories together, and cheering each other on. The commitment of our volunteers and the amazing support of our community create lasting memories and opportunities for every student to thrive.
After School Program

St. John Regional School offers an After School Program for students in Pre-K through eighth grade. These sessions begin the first week of school and are operational when school is in session. This program is available Monday through Friday from 3:00pm - 5:30pm, with the exception of school vacations, holidays, professional development days, and early release days.
The After School Program is supervised by the faculty at SJRS, and it offers a safe and happy environment where students can complete homework, and enjoy supervised play time. Our faculty works together to provide individual attention and security in an atmosphere of respect and understanding.
If your child/children participates in after school activities, i.e. basketball, soccer, math etc., and he or she attends the after school program until the activity begins (or after the activity has ended), the family will be charged the program fees.
