Catholic Education with Academic and Moral Standards

Sports

The athletic programs are organized by the SJRS Teams Board which consists of volunteers who oversee these programs and elect athletic directors to run the programs.  Our teams generally participate in local leagues such as Concord Parks and Recreation and the Merrimack Basketball League.  Fees, charged to participate in these programs, generally cover the league entrance fees and uniform and equipment costs.  Additional fees, required to operate the programs, such as gym or field time are paid for with monies raised from fundraising activities.

SJRS offers the opportunity for grade school students to participate in the following sports programs.

Ski Program

Here is some basic information on our program. We take applications in October, so please look for more specific details at that time.

  • The program is held at Pat’s Peak and runs for five consecutive Fridays in January, usually after returning from Christmas vacation.
  • Since this program is NOT school sponsored, there is no bus transportation.
  • Children are dismissed from school at 2:20 pm to be taken to the mountain.
  • First and Second Grade children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • The cost will range from approximately $100 to $250 depending upon equipment rentals and whether your child skis or snow boards.
  • The lessons start at 3:30 pm and are one hour long.
  • After the lessons, the mountain is open for the entire family to enjoy.
  • Parents have the opportunity to purchase reduced-rate lift tickets after the lessons, since their children are in the program.
