My website includes two links: Homeroom Notes and Mrs. Milne’s Homework. Homeroom Notes is a link devoted to any of the events or news that affect 8th graders. It includes Mass dates, tag days, field trips, and activities such as The Stations of the Cross, Open House, Catholic Schools Week, and most importantly- graduation information. I keep Grade 8 parents informed via this section and by frequent emails.
My website also includes a link to Mrs. Milne’s Homework which is broken down into the 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes. I offer an overview of which pages will be covered over that week and include the exercises or other homework that is assigned. I do not break it down by what pages are earmarked for each night. We continue along and it changes frequently according to the needs of each class. The following week I usually comment on whether we are behind or ahead, and we resume from there. I often note how the class is progressing, what they need to work on, what I expect, and what the students should be spending more time preparing for or reviewing.
